Join doll artist Judy Porter for a fun beginner to intermediate sculpting workshop where you will explore sculpting in not only oven baked clay, but also sculpting with a needle and wool.
Judy will take you step by step, up close and tableside where you can see and learn how to create your own little Whimsy doll. Your little Whimsy will have a polymer clay sculpted head, hands and feet, with a needle felted body.
Nothing here to fear, Judy will show you how to create Whimsy’s little outfit with different techniques using felting, embellishments, ribbon and a few things you might find on a stroll through the woods. You will learn how to make an armature to support your clay sculpt but still allow your doll to be poseable.
Though your little Whimsy is done in caricature you will learn the proper placement of facial features for different age groups.
Don’t let sculpting hands scare you either. Judy will be sharing a super simple technique to make hands looks realistic with just a few lines on the clay. Nothing is difficult about creating this fun little woodland creature.
